What is the connection between One80 Africa e. V. and Pendo Kenia e. V.?

A great deal—because we are the very same organization. In 2025, we simply decided to change our name. There were several reasons for this: In Kenya, there are numerous organizations named “Pendo,” which has repeatedly led to confusion. Furthermore, the name and logo no longer reflected the diversity of our projects and target groups. After more than 12 years, it was time for a fresh look. One80 Africa e.V. continues to stand for the same values and the same founding team—and many of our members and supporters have remained loyal to us since the early years.

How are my donations used?

Every euro donated goes directly to our projects in Kenya—whether it’s for educational programs, building sustainable infrastructure, or providing targeted support to children, teenagers, and young families. We work closely with our local partners to ensure that funds are used responsibly and effectively.

Will my donation actually reach its destination?

Yes. Our project teams in Germany and Kenya document every use of donations. We operate transparently, set budgets in advance, and review expenses together with our local partner organization.

Can I make a donation for a specific project?

Sure! On our donation form, you can specify which project you’d like to support in the comment field. If you’re making a manual bank transfer, you can include the project name in the payment description.

Will I receive a donation receipt?

Yes. We are a registered nonprofit organization in Germany (VR 204004 at the Munich Local Court) and are authorized to issue donation receipts. You will receive these automatically at the beginning of the following year.

Can I make regular donations?

Yes. Regular donations are especially helpful to us because they allow us to plan for the long term. When making a donation, you can simply select your preferred frequency (monthly, quarterly, etc.) or set up a standing order with your bank.

Is my online donation secure?

Yes. Our website uses an encrypted connection (SSL). Payments are processed through trusted partners such as Squarespace and Stripe, all of which are GDPR-compliant.

What happens to my data?
